Reflecting on the Success and Impact of the mindsON RBQM Webinar Series

In this blog post, Keith Dorricott, one of our Lead Instructors at the MyRBQM Academy, shares his reflections on the journey of the mindsON RBQM series, its evolution, and its impact on over 1000 participants across 150 companies. Come along as we explore this remarkable journey and anticipate what’s next for the series.

A Toast to the 20th Episode: The Power of Teamwork and Fun

Clink” went the champagne glasses at our recent webinar in the mindsON RBQM series as Johann Proeve, CMO Cyntegrity, and I toasted our 20th episode. But how do you get glasses that are hundreds of miles apart clink like this on a webinar? The answer is an example of how we do things for these webinars. Johann and I had practiced earlier moving our glasses together on screen while Tamara Beck, Operations Manager, MyRBQM Academy, tapped two glasses together in the background for the sound effect. Teamwork and fun, which are fundamental to making the mindsON RBQM webinars such a success!

Our Mission: Upskilling the Industry on Risk-Based Quality Management

One of our goals at MyRBQM Academy is to help upskill the industry on risk-based quality management (RBQM). Back in 2021, we decided we should run a series of six monthly webinars providing an overview of the steps of RBQM as defined in ICH E6(R2) (GCP). Johann and I have considerable experience in helping organizations implement RBQM and we wanted to share some practical tips and our learnings. Little did we realise that through popular demand, this series would extend into 2024 with 20 webinars completed to date.

Evolving Our Approach: Collaboration, Whiteboarding, and Engaging Q&A

Our approach has developed over time to a more collaborative approach with whiteboarding and polling as well as Q&A. Sometimes, we have so many ideas on whiteboards that we run out of space. We always learn from these. And Q&A can sometimes be wild as it was in our first session on Quality Tolerance Limits – there were so many questions we had to hold a follow-up session just focused on the questions! Johann and I have developed a particular style where we bounce ideas off each other and hopefully make the webinars interesting with our back-and-forth and even occasional disagreements. And we use feedback to help determine topics for subsequent webinars.

The Audience Speaks: Over 1000 Participants and Counting

What really matters though is our audience. What do they think? Well, we’ve totalled up over 1000 participants so far across 150 companies. Participants stay till the end of the webinars and over 95% give either a 5 or 6 out of 6 in their feedback. We’ve had lots of comments and the Word Cloud of those comments gives a good picture of what people make of them. It is particularly pleasing to see the words “insights”, “informative”, “helpful” and “interesting” come up in the Word Cloud. It certainly looks as though these webinars are helping to inform and upskill the industry and we look forward to continuing the series into 2024. We look forward to toasting another mindsON RBQM milestone in the future!
