Title: Life of a Clinical Data Manager in Times of ICH E6(R3) / ICH E8(R1)
This session explores the shifting responsibilities of Clinical Data Managers (CDMs) under the latest ICH guidelines. While the traditional goal of CDMs was to deliver a perfectly clean, medically sound database for statistical analysis, the modern focus is on data reliability and participant safety.
With the rise of risk-based quality management (RBQM), CDMs are expected to adopt new tools and skills, including taking on the evolving role of Central Monitors. This presentation offers practical guidance on:
- Which new tasks and competencies CDMs need to master
- How RBQM supports better trial outcomes
- How CDMs can maintain core responsibilities while stepping into oversight roles
