Do You Set Goals? How Do You Keep Them in Sight?

Some people write their goals in a notebook, others use digital trackers, post-it notes, or vision boards. But what really works to stay on track? That was the focus of our latest Cyntegrity SHINE Community session, where we explored how to set and manage goals in a way that actually sticks.

Common Challenges in Goal-Setting

One participant shared how they set annual goals but often forgot about them until the end of the year. Another mentioned using a whiteboard at home to keep them front and center. A few found success with reminders in their calendar and weekly check-ins to reflect and adjust.

Making Goals Visible

A recurring theme? Goals need visibility. If they’re tucked away in a document you never open, they might as well not exist. SHINE members discussed simple but effective strategies: writing goals on sticky notes and placing them on a mirror, sharing them with a mentor for accountability, or setting a phone background with a key reminder.

The Power of Motivation

But goal-setting isn’t just about the method it’s about motivation. Some in the session found that defining a personal “why” helped keep them engaged. One person aiming for a fitness goal framed it as “staying active to have more energy for family” rather than just “going to the gym.” That shift made a difference in staying committed.

Keep Reviewing and Adjusting

Whatever the approach, the consensus was clear goals should be seen, reviewed, and adjusted regularly. The SHINE Community is all about creating a space where members can support each other in making their ambitions a reality.
